As a part of a continuity of the Arbitration Council community’s capacity building related to legal issues, the Arbitration Council Foundation (ACF) is organising a legal discussion on a few legal topics with Mr. Gilles Bélier on Friday, 28 February 2014 at the AC office.

The training is expected to provide greater understanding on legal issues that are not stated in the Cambodian Law or Regulations. It will also consider the question of jurisdiction between the Arbitration Council and the Courts in Cambodia in relation to Labour Law matters.

Mr. Gilles Bélier; a labor lawyer with over forty years’ experience; internationally recognized as expert in French Employment Law and recently appointed by the President of Republic of France as “third party in a social conflict over a legal industrial restriction in an important European company in the energy sector” will deliver the training.

Mr Bélier has a master degrees in law and in political sciences, and is a member as expert of the High Council of Social Dialogue. From 1982 to 2007, Mr. Belier wrote various articles published in the employment law journal “Droit Social” and others in relation to worker rights.
