At least 100 students from the University Puthisastra (UP) learned about alternative dispute resolution processes in Cambodia and the Arbitration Council mechanism by attending a seminar titled “Labour Dispute Resolution Process at the AC and the Court system” given by experts from the Arbitration Council (AC) and the Arbitration Council Foundation (ACF) at the UP’s Conference Hall on 2 April 2014. .

Presented by Ms Sin Kim Sean, Arbitrator with the AC and Mr Sor Sontheary, Manager of Training and Communication Department, this two-hour training session aimed to share the practical experience of the AC in resolving labour disputes for more than 10 years with the younger generation so that they can contribute to stable industrial relations in Cambodia in the future.

Mr. Dell Lad, Executive Vice President of the UP expressed his appreciation to the Arbitration Council for spending valuable time and offering this training to his students. He added that this helped the students to see the real practical application of the work, as they mostly learn about the theoretical framework at school.

Mr. Sok Lor, ACF Executive Director said “We are very proud of presenting the Arbitration Council’s work to the students. It particularly strengthens the relationship between various universities working hand-in-hand to promote harmonious industrial relations in Cambodia”.
