During January to July of 2016, the new edition of “Kamakor Laor, Thao Keo Laor (Good Employers, Good Workers)” has broadcast 24 live shows covering various topics ranging from the AC arbitration process and workplace cooperation to workers safety and welfare. Radio audience participants were able to call in and ask questions of a range of knowledgeable and experienced speakers, including representatives from the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC), labour lawyers, employer representatives, and members of AC and ACF.
“Kamako Laor, Thao Keo Laor”, is a radio learning program collaboration between the Arbitration Council Foundation (ACF) and the Women’s Media Center of Cambodia Radio (WMC), FM 102 MHz, developed to promote the better understanding of the Labour Law and industrial relations among workers and employers in Cambodia. First broadcast in mid-2014, this radio learning program has been funded by Gap Inc. and relaunched for another year in November 2015 with more interactive and interesting topics, and more opportunities for industry stakeholders to learn more about the constantly evolving world of industrial relations in Cambodia.
The program airs live every Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. and is replayed every Sunday from 8:35 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. In addition, every three weeks, the audience is encouraged to participate in quiz shows covering the topics discussed in the past weeks with prizes including radio sets, helmets, and caps.
